From April 2008, Energy Performance Certificates will be required on the construction, sale or rent of all dwellings, and of non-domestic buildings with a floor area over 10,000 m2.

Are you prepared?

The rollout of energy performance certification for all buildings is beginning. And architects need to be fully informed of the requirements and what they will mean for design. With property owners reviewing the likely impact of certification on their portfolios, and M&E engineers preparing themselves for increased demands for energy efficient services, is the architectural community ready for clients stipulating A rated building designs?

The AJ’s timely ‘Understanding Energy Performance Certification’ conference brings together the key industry figures spearheading the rollout of EPCs and DECs, providing architects with access to the knowledge they need in preparation for the new energy performance requirements.

This conference will:
  • Explain what Energy Performance Certificates and Display Energy Certificates are and how they will impact on architects and their designs
  • Outline the key methodology and tools which determine energy performance ratings
  • Update you on current legislation and the latest timetable of implementation for energy performance certification
  • Offer an insight into the wider implications of energy performance ratings and their affect on the property markets
  • Take you through worked examples of improving the energy performance of domestic and non domestic buildings

Who should attend:

This one-day conference is an excellent opportunity for all professionals involved in the planning, design and building of new and refurbished buildings including:

Architects, developers, contractors, building services engineers, M&E consultants, property consultants, sustainability consultants, local authorities, product manufacturers
